A fiber line has been cut, causing the district’s Internet to go out. This impacts our telephone system. Here are the emergency contact numbers that are in use during these events.

The 4-H Public Speaking Contest, scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2025, has been moved to Thursday, January 23. The event will be held at Briarwood Elementary School, with the doors opening at 5:30.

Schools will be opening two hours late on Monday, January 13, 2024. As the following is usually asked during these events, here is an example of how this will impact bus riders. If your bus typically runs at 6:30, it will run at 8:30 tomorrow.
Due to the anticipated severe winter weather conditions, Benton County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 10, 2025. Please stay safe and plan accordingly.

Benton County Schools will close at 12 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, for the funeral services of Mrs. Brenda Pafford, a long-time school employee.

Briarwood Elementary School will be on its regular schedule on Tuesday. However, the Health Clinic will still be closed.
Due to mechanical issues with the heating system at Briarwood School, there will be no school on Monday, December 2nd at Briarwood School only. This includes the Health Clinic. All other Benton County Schools will run on their normal schedule.
Due to damage to the main water line servicing the city of Camden, there will be no school Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Big Sandy Bus #16 will be about an hour late for the morning route.
Big Sandy Bus #4 will be one hour late in the morning, and all Big Sandy buses will be carrying a double load tomorrow afternoon to cover Bus #4. Expect delays in the afternoon if your child rides Bus #4.
If you want to get a flu shot, today is a great day to do so. The clinic is open to all Benton County Schools staff and students from 3 PM to 5:30 PM for these shots today.

There will be school Friday, September 27. Someone thought it would be funny to sow the seeds of chaos and fabricate a message saying school was canceled. You can always know if a post is real by checking our app or website.

Please take note of this critical announcement from Sheriff Jeff Cassidy, President of the TN Sheriff's Association, regarding school threats.
We have received several concerns about a social media post tonight regarding a potential threat at Camden High. The Benton County School system and local law enforcement agencies are actively and thoroughly investigating the allegations.
There is no evidence of a threat against any Benton County school at this time. However, as a precaution, law enforcement will be present in increased numbers at schools tomorrow.
