Reminder: On August 28, 2023, Benton County Schools implemented a policy that prohibits backpacks in the stadium. Below is the original wording from that announcement.
"To ensure the safety of all spectators and student-athletes, backpacks will no longer be permitted at Tommy Richardson Stadium in Camden Central High School. Please note that all bags, including purses, will be subject to search before entering the stadium.
Thank you for being so cooperative in creating a secure environment, and we look forward to your support of the Camden Lions."

Message to Families/Staff
Subject: Incident at Camden Central High School Parking Lot
Dear Families and Staff:
Earlier today, during one of our regularly scheduled safety searches with trained canines, our contracted security team detected an unloaded pistol inside a vehicle in the Camden Central High School parking lot.
The search was part of the routine safety checks we conduct once or twice each month. At no point was there a threat to students or staff stemming from this incident, and the situation was managed swiftly and appropriately by school administration and law enforcement.
Following school district policy, the student associated with the vehicle will face disciplinary action. Due to our legal obligation to maintain student confidentiality, we cannot share further details at this time.
The safety of our students and staff is always one of our top priorities. We encourage our families to talk with their students about what is and is not appropriate to bring to school, as well as the consequences of having a weapon or other prohibited items.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school safe.
Sincerely,
Mark Florence
Director of Schools

We're still dealing with a driver shortage but are actively working to hire a new driver soon. Thank you for your patience and support!
