Welcome!

The Band Program of Camden Central High School

The band program at Camden Central High School is a dynamic and multifaceted initiative that offers various avenues for performance. From the electrifying Marching Band to the melodic Concert Band, the spirited Pep Band, and captivating small ensembles, students engage with music in diverse ways, enriching both the school and the community.

At the core of this program is a commitment to music education, instilling values such as discipline, respect, and time management in students. These invaluable lessons go beyond music and contribute to holistic development.

Open to students in grades 6-12, the band program provides opportunities for growth and collaboration. While the Marching Band caters to grades 9-12, exceptionally talented middle school students are frequently invited to join their high school counterparts, fostering a spirit of mentorship and excellence.

The Camden Junior High Band (Grades 6-8) showcases their talent in a minimum of two annual performances! These include the winter concert and the spring concert. As students master new musical skills in class, they also dedicate themselves to rigorous practice to grasp fresh musical concepts. Given the performance-focused nature of the band program, student attendance at concerts is mandatory, contributing significantly to the overall success of the band.

Attention 6th Graders!

Recruitment commences during the 6th-grade orientation. Keep an eye out for the directors to kickstart the registration process! Participating in the band is undeniably one of the most rewarding experiences for any student!

The Camden Central High School Band is a vibrant ensemble that kicks off each academic year with band camp, an intensive two-week period of rehearsals designed to ready students for the marching band season spanning from July to early November. Throughout this period, the band entertains the crowds at home football games, several away games, and takes part in marching band competitions where students can exhibit their skills and witness the fruits of their labor. From December to May, band members transition to concert band, diligently preparing music for their winter concert, spring concert, and concert festival. Concert band holds equal importance to the marching band, with full attendance at rehearsals and performances being compulsory for all students to ensure the ensemble's success.
